The first thing I realized after starting my music sessions , is how little I knew about our great and vast “Hindustani Classical Music” , that truly makes me feel proud of our Indian Heritage. Over the months, I have improved my voice quality and learning various Raags have helped me to sing better and with satisfaction. Taking out time for personal interests out of work life is not always easy, but attending my music lessons is on my priority list because every session of music makes me feel happier. I am immensely thankful to all the Gurus of Deepak Music Academy for imparting such beautiful knowledge with so much of responsible effort, affection and discipline.

Pt.Deepak and Meera ji’s efforts and individual attention, is a guiding light for us senior citizens. Even at this age, they encouraged us to give the university music exams, which we passed with flying colours. I have been a student for Hindustani Vocal and my husband Dr. P. Anantharam has learnt the Harmonium. Learning music has become our strength in our life!

I have been learning Indian classical Music for almost 10 years now and have experienced my vocal range improving day by day. Being a student of Deepak Music Academy I can confidently say that it served as the best foundation. Learning classical Swaras and various other patterns of notations, I can sing any genre of song. My versatility as a singer drastically improved because of the structured pattern of Raags and voice training practices followed in the teaching process of the academy. I also feel privileged and lucky that I got a chance to learn from all the three music Gurus' of the academy, namely Pt. Deepak , Meera Ma’am and Ashwini Ma’am. Learning is a continuous process and I am still learning after a decade.

I want to thank Deepak Music Academy for giving us the platform to perform in the Annual shows and other events - it's been a confidence booster. It's only and only because of our Gurus’ consistent , persistent and dedicated efforts that today I can understand sur when I listen to any song and have improved as a singer. I confidently perform in my office gatherings and society functions and receive a lot of appreciation from people. With no idea of Sur and only a passion for music , I clearly remember my first music session on 16th April 2012 with Pt. Deepak ji, as I had waited 13 long years after my graduation, for the opportunity to learn music. With deepest gratitude ,I wish Deepak Music Academy all the best for the journey ahead. I thank them from the bottom of my heart to have given me this precious gift called “Music” which brings happiness in my life !

Music has such meditative and healing powers that it can actually enhance one’s concentration and can help completely de-stress.I always had the passion for learning Hindustani classical music but it took a back seat as I progressed with my higher studies.Balancing my profession as a doctor and mothering my twin sons in their toddler years was such a consuming task, both mentally and physically for me, that I needed to unwind somewhere.Getting back to learning Hindustani classical music at Deepak music academy was like a breath of fresh air in my life. The vocal warm-up exercises at the beginning of each session are highly therapeutic.I feel fortunate to be guided by my gurus who strive relentlessly to get the best out of every student. The patience and knowledge of music are admirable. The opportunities to perform live on stage and the tips provided by the gurus have given a boost to my confidence.I look forward to many more years of learning from my music gurus.

Learning music filled the vacuum in my life after leaving my job of 14 years with HDFC Bank. A long-buried desire to learn music was brought to life after I joined Deepak Music Academy. It is not an easy task to teach an adult a new skill or talent, but our Gurus achieve this feat with ease. As courteous and caring as they are, any novice can blossom under their tutelage. The journey has been a soothing and enriching one.

I'm happy and blessed to be a student of Deepak Music Academy where I can pursue my passion as best I can.I never got down to learning music in my early days owing to my father’s transferable job, studies and then household responsibilities. But better late than never. With the advice of our Gurus, I started learning Hindustani Music that has given me a solid base and enables me to sing any song to perfection. After all, the Guru knows best !

I was 4 years old when I joined Deepak Music Academy. I have a faint memory of my first day with all music instruments around me. With all the excitement I was finding it difficult to sit in one place. But as soon as my first lesson of Sargam started, I enjoyed singing and since then I love my music class. Training under my Music Gurus has helped me to perform better at school and I am always part of the music performances at school functions. My Music Gurus also readily give me extra training when I need to perform on stage other than academy shows. Thank You !

First of all I am really very thankful to Deepak Music Academy for giving me this opportunity to share my learning experience with them. Long back when I was younger, somebody said to me that every person should learn some instrument or any form of music as that brings purity in your thoughts and makes your soul more peaceful. Since then I always wanted to learn an instrument. Tabla as an instrument has always been my favourite and through Deepak Music Academy today I am able to fulfill my desire. There was a time when I initially struggled with my basics but through their guidance, motivation and positive approach today I see myself confidently performing in their annual events , improving day by day and have sense of achievement & satisfaction of able to learn and deliver something new. Tabla is an ultimate stress buster and I have always enjoyed all my practice sessions and would like to continue to learn more and more. Thank you.

Deepak Music Academy has kept me rooted to Indian Classical Music in a generation of growing demands for pop artists. I love going for classical concerts with mom just as much as I love attending Ed Sheeran's or Coldplay's concerts. I believe I get my love for music from my mom. She too is a student of Deepak Music Academy and I'm so blessed to share the joy of music with her. I thank Deepak Music Academy for giving us the gift of music. I was 8 years old when my musical journey with Deepak Music Academy began. I'm 16 now but I'm just as peppy for class every week as I used to be 8 years ago.

I joined Deepak music academy 3 years ago and today I’m proud to be a part of it. I joined the academy for singing i.e. the vocal degree course but I enjoyed the class so much that I took up Hindustani Keyboard as well . What I like most is that you aren’t just taught Raags or songs but you are taught what music is and how beautiful it is. We have annual shows every year which include various Raags, sargamgeets, Aalaps, taans and instrumental performances, which gives me the feeling of an artist and boosts my confidence. Thanks to my Gurus’ teachings in music, I’m also a part of the school annual day every year and have won prizes as a solo performer in school.. Even though I go to the academy for an hour I’m taught so beautifully that the hour just seems to be limitless. The experience of 3 years has been wonderful and I look forward to continue learning music. In fact, now I wish to learn Tabla as well. Last but not the least, I would like to thank Deepak sir, Meera ma’am and Ashwini ma’am for their guidance and support in my journey of learning music.

I have been a part of Deepak Music academy since March 2014. Just like any other student, I was clueless and intrigued by the myths around classical music. Thankfully, I arrived at the right place. Classical music taught at Deepak music academy, isn't just about getting the Surs right, it's about the feel, tempo and a lot many things that a layman wouldn't know. Over these years, I have got to know so much more about music in general, not just singing. Hope to continue getting better and make the academy proud some day!

I always wanted to learn to play the keyboard. I have been learning for two years now and in these two years I have developed the knowledge and confidence to play different songs on the keyboard by myself by just following the notations. I am happy I am learning Hindustani Classical Music. It is the best recreation for me when I feel bored and tired of studying. Our Gurus are very patient, kind and loving.

Learning music from Deepak music academy has been the most enjoyable experience for me. I love singing as well as playing the keyboard. I learn different Raags and lovely songs based on the Raags. Ma’am teaches me very sweetly and also guides me when I want to sing songs for competitions or performances. I like my music class a lot and never like to miss it.

Rudra Athray Class Ten Student - Udayachal High School, Vikhroli

I have been learning music from Deepak sir, Meera ma'am and Ashwini ma'am since 2007. During my association with them, I have learnt not only the nuances of Hindustani classical music but also values like patience, perseverance and discipline. I began learning music for the joy of learning it - but with time it helped me grow as a human being. Today, as a teen, I am one of the few in my peer group to have studied a classical art form and I believe this gives me an edge wherever I go.

My gurus are among the few people in today's day and age who teach music for the love of it. They have a strong conviction in the importance of spreading Hindustani classical and introducing this art to the younger generations. What I have found particularly impressive is that they are able to teach music in a very structured way, through notations, something that isn't usually done in this genre of music. I look forward to continuing to learn under them for many years to come and developing my musical capabilities to performance levels.

Agastya AthrayClass Five Student - Udayachal School, Vikhroli

I began learning music when I was 4-5 years old. My brother was learning from them, so I would go with him. Along with Singing and Casio, I also enrolled for the Tabla.

I was so happy that I could come home and tell everyone the different parts of the Tabla. Today, I make the most of every opportunity I get to show my talent: I know my songs by heart now and love singing them at new year parties and during camps. And my songs are always different, not film songs that other children sing. It makes me feel very special. A big thank you to Sir and Mam, for teaching me and never scolding me.

I too hope to learn from them for many many years, like my brother and appear for the music exams.
